InterMart announces Shipping Solutions 2000/ Export Documentation training classes

InterMart, Inc. is proud to announce two upcoming Shipping Solutions 2000/Export Documentation seminars from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2001, and Friday, August 28, 2001.

These full-day seminar walk users step-by-step through the process of using the Shipping Solutions 2000 software to complete a set of export documents.  In addition, the seminars include an explanation of INCOTERMS 2000, forms of payment, export compliance, the Automated Export System (AES), and integrating Shipping Solutions with your company's accounting or ERP system.

InterMart is hosting these classes at the computer lab at National American University in the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota.  This is hands-on training!  Each attendee will be seated at a computer workstation running the Shipping Solutions 2000 software.

Catherine J. Petersen is the seminar instructor.  Ms. Petersen is the founder of CJ Petersen & Associates, a research, training and consulting firm.  She is a nationally recognized speaker and trainer on export regulations, documentation, transportation and payment procedures.

All attendees will receive a copy of Ms. Petersen's book Exporting: Regulations Documentation Procedures.

InterMart has arranged a special $73 room rate with the Days Inn - Airport located across the street from the Mall of America.  Free shuttles are available to and from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport as well as to and from the Mall of America.

At the Mall of America, you'll discover more than 520 retail and specialty stores, dozens of unique dining and entertainment options including the Camp Snoopy theme park with over 27 rides and attractions, an 18-hole miniature Golf Mountain, Underwater World, General Cinema Theaters with 14 screens, and the America Live entertainment complex with 50,000 square feet of restaurants and nightclubs.

The cost of the training class is $545 per person.  Additional employees from the same company receive a $50 discount off the seminar price.  Subscribers to Shipping Solutions' Maintenance Program receive a $100 discount for each attendee from their company.

Because of the hands-on nature of the seminars, seating for these classes is limited to the first 20 registrants.  Seating for last year's class filled up in less than two weeks!

Come for the Friday seminar and spend the weekend at the Mall of America (and save your company airfare with your Saturday night stay).

Don't delay!  Email or call InterMart today to reserve your spot in either of these two important seminars.

CORRECTION

In a previous issue of the Shipping Solutions 2000 newsletter, we incorrectly stated that the U.S. Census Bureau had "convinced" ocean carriers to begin charging $100 for every paper Shipper's Export Declaration (SED) that is filed.

A representative of the Census Bureau clarified the relationship in an email message to InterMart.  Here is an excerpt from that message:

"In general I think you have a great web site - products and services. But in your March 2001 newsletter you state that we convinced ocean carriers to charge $100 per paper SED - WRONG. The carriers volunteered to do this - it was their idea - it just happened to advance electronic filing - certainly one of our goals."

We apologize for the misstatement and appreciate the clarification.
