If I only need the features available in Shipping
Solutions Classic now, can I upgrade to Shipping Solutions
Professional later?
Yes, if your company currently doesn’t
do much exporting or can’t afford to invest
in Shipping Solutions Professional right now, you
can start using Shipping Solutions Classic and upgrade
to the Professional version later at a discounted
price. Best of all, you will be able to use access
all the previous shipments you created in Shipping
Solutions Classic.
Can I purchase the single-user version
of Shipping Solutions now and upgrade to the network
version later?
Yes, you can upgrade your stand-alone
version of Shipping Solutions to the network version
with its license to install the program on up to four
PCs at a discounted price.
I own a previous version of Shipping
Solutions, can I upgrade to either of the current
versions or do I have to buy a complete new version
of the software?
If you are currently using Shipping
Solutions Classic version 4.0 or later, you can upgrade
to the new Shipping Solutions Classic version 6.0
or Shipping Solutions Professional version 7.0 at
a special upgrade price. If you are currently using
Shipping Solutions 2000, you can also upgrade to Shipping
Solutions Professional at a special upgrade price.
Because Shipping Solutions version
1.x, 2.x and 3.x are now more than six years old
and include forms that have been outdated for at
least three years, we no longer support these versions
with special upgrade prices.
If I decide to purchase Shipping
Solutions after downloading the demo version, will
you just send me a code to unlock the full version
of the software?
If you decide to purchase either
version of Shipping Solutions after trying out the
demo version, we will send you a new CD-ROM and User
Guide to install on your PC. That way you can be assured
that you have the latest and greatest version of the
software.
What are some of the accounting systems
your customers have integrated Shipping Solutions
with?
We have customers who have integrated
Shipping Solutions with SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle, AS400
systems, a variety of different manufacturing systems,
and even small accounting packages like QuickBooks.
If you can create a delimited text file in your accounting,
order-entry or ERP system, you can integrate Shipping
Solutions with it. In fact, we have never encountered
a system that wouldn’t integrate with Shipping
Solutions.
I can't send an email directly from my Shipping
Solutions Software.
What’s
happening?
Certain corporate-wide email programs are configured
with a variety of security measures to prevent unauthorized
access to the company’s email server. Unfortunately,
these security measures may prevent you from sending
an email directly from the Shipping Solutions Professional
software.
Fortunately, there is a very easy
work around for this problem. Rather than selecting
the option to Email a Single Form, just choose the
option of Saving a Document for Later Emailing. This
option will allow you to save the export form on your
hard drive. You can now open your email program as
you normally wood, create a new email message, and
simply attach the form or forms that you save on your
hard drive to this email.
Does Shipping Solutions include the
Canadex and Mexidex forms?
There are no Canadex or Mexidex forms
used by Customs. Instead, certain forms companies
sell an expensive set of carbon forms that include
the forms you need to ship from the U.S. to Canada
or Mexico. Both versions of Shipping Solutions create
all the forms you need to produce to ship to either
country.
How do I get my old Shipping Solutions
data into the new version of the program?
When you upgrade your previous version
of Shipping Solutions to either Shipping Solutions
Classic version 6.0 or Shipping Solutions Professional
version 7.0, you cannot simply attach to your old
data files. Instead, you can import the data from
any previous version of Shipping Solutions version
4.0 or later from the Utilities Menu.
Will either version of Shipping Solutions
work on a Macintosh?
We receive such a small number of
requests for Shipping Solutions from Macintosh users,
we have not created a Mac version of the program.
Why aren’t all my products
appearing on the Shipper’s Export Declaration
(SED)?
To meet U.S. Export Regulations, Shipping Solutions
combines product line items with the same Schedule
B numbers into a single line item on the SED. Shipping
Solutions automatically adds up and lists the total
quantity, weight and value for all the separate line
items and displays the total on the single line item
created on the SED.
If, for some reason, you want to
display all your products as separate line items on
the SED, the SED Screen in Shipping Solutions allows
you to turn off this feature.
How can I get an additional printed
copy of the Shipping Solutions User Guide?
You can download a complete Shipping Solutions User
Guide from this website or from the CD-ROM on which
the software shipped. You can also purchase additional
printed copies of the User Guide directly from Shipping
Solutions for $20 plus $6 S&H.
