Shipping Solutions Professional gives current Annual
Maintenance Program (AMP) subscribers the ability
to ensure that their shipments comply with current
export regulations. By simply clicking on a single
button, you immediately have three screening options:
- Country
Document Determination. All international shipments
must include the appropriate documentation to ensure
Customs clearance at the port of export and the
port of entry. Shipping Solutions automatically
determines which documents are necessary for every
shipment to help you ensure that you are complying
with export and import regulations. In
order for this feature to produce accurate results,
make sure you have entered a country code for both
the exporter and consignee. Including appropriate documentation
will help ensure your goods aren’t delayed
at customs, your customers aren’t paying
higher duty rates than necessary, and that your
company is paid fully and in a timely manner.
- Export
License Determination. The U.S. government restricts
or bans the export of certain goods to specific
countries or entities to protect natural resources,
control the proliferation of arms and nuclear weapons,
and to ensure national security and regional stability.
Shipping Solutions Professional allows you to screen
your products based on their Export Control Classification
Number (ECCN) and country of ultimate destination
to help you determine if any licenses or license
exceptions are needed to ship your goods. In
order for this feature to produce accurate results,
you must enter an ECCN number and Schedule B Number
for each of your products in a shipment and a country
code for both the exporter and consignee. Screening
your export against the Export Administration Regulations
can protect your company from fines, fees and even
restrictions on exporting!
- Restricted Party Screening. Various government agencies maintain “bad
guy” lists of
people, organizations and countries to which it
is illegal to export for one or more reasons. Shipping
Solutions allows you to screen all the parties
in your export transactions against these lists
and notifies you of any potential matches. Screening
your export against these lists can protect your
company from fines, fees and even restrictions
on exporting!

Choose the screening level you wish to
use before you click the Go button. You have three
choices for the Restricted Party Screening ranging
from a “Broad” screen,
which will result in a lot of matches of anything
remotely similar to your shipment information, to
a very restrictive “Narrow” search, which
will only display exact matches.
You should choose
an option that returns a few matches on most searches,
which you should then review and further identify
whether or not they match one or more parties in
your export transaction. We recommend that you begin
by setting the screening level to “Medium” and
then adjusting up or down from there depending on
how many results you receive.
Shipping Solutions Professional
will access InterMart’s
secure server and match the appropriate fields in
your current shipment against the proper databases
of information. In a matter of seconds, you will
see a display of all potential matches. Please Note:
For audit purposes, you should print out and file
each compliance and screening response in case you
are ever audited by Customs or another government
agency.
The information for all three screening modules are
monitored and updated daily, if necessary, so you
always have access to timely information. However,
the most current information is always published
in the Federal Register.
