New division concentrates on educational materials for U.S. import-export companies

Eagan, MN— InterMart, Inc., developer of the popular Shipping Solutions® export documentation software, has unveiled a new division concentrating on the educational needs of small and mid-sized U.S. companies involved in import and export. The new division, International Business Training (IBT), offers reference books, self-study courses and in-house seminars on topics ranging from import and export procedures to international marketing to letters of credit and drafts.

All of the materials offered by International Business Training have been used by World Trade Centers, export assistance centers, educational institutions and private seminar companies as their primary resource materials. More than 80,000 import/export professionals have used these reference books to learn or improve their knowledge of the international marketplace.

"As the leading provider of export documentation software, we regularly get requests from customers for general import/export assistance," said David Noah, president of InterMart. "For many small and mid-sized businesses, the export department is a wholly independent area within the company that doesn’t receive the same level of investment and support as their domestic counterparts. At the same time, these departments coordinate transactions worth hundreds of thousands—if not millions—of dollars through constantly changing international regulations. Our goal is to give these people the information they need to succeed."

International Business Training offers its reference books at prices ranging from $24.50 to $88. In addition, IBT offers seven different self-study courses that give participants a more in-depth look at each topic area as well as interaction with experienced import/export instructors. The self-study courses sell for $195 to $245 and allow the users to complete them at their own pace.

IBT currently offers the following reference books:

  • Exploring International Trade Options
  • Export Documentation and Shipping*
  • Export Letters of Credit and Drafts*
  • Export Marketing and Sales*
  • Export Order Processing*
  • Export Sales Agents and Distributors
  • Export Shipping*
  • FreightDesk Manual
  • Import Procedures and Documentation*
  • International Reference Glossary
  • International Trade Terms
  • NAFTA Documentation & Procedures*
*These titles are also available as self-study courses.

In addition to these individual titles, IBT offers many of these books on a single CD-ROM at a substantial discount over purchasing the reference books individually. The $195 International Trade Reference Library on CD-ROM makes it easy to search the whole library by specific topic.
